Frequently asked questions temporary suspension
What are the consequences of a temporary suspension?
This means you temporarily cannot withdraw money from a fund. This concerns the following funds:
- FalcInvest Global Markets Class A (euro), B (euro and dollar) and II (euro)
- FalcInvest Specialist Finance Fund Class A (euro) and B (euro and dollar)
- FalcInvest Opportunities Fund Class A (euro) and B (euro)
- FalcInvest Mixfonds Defensief, Neutraal and Offensief
Redemptions can be permitted again when the turmoil in the financial markets is reduced and pricing has become more realistic.
What about my investment?
You will remain a participant in the fund and the investment activities continue. Your assets in the fund are safe to the extent that they are fully segregated from the corporate assets of the management company of the fund. The temporary suspension of redemption does not change this.
What is the value of my investment?
Information about the value of your investment is available our website at funds and results.
What caused the suspension?
The current situation is a result of the loss of confidence in the financial industry. As a consequence, the financial system suffers from an enormous lack of liquidity. The above-mentioned FalcInvest funds invest in a large number of internationally active funds. When the managers of some of these funds are forced to sell investments in these illiquid markets they will not receive realistic prices. This is not in the interest of the investors. Suspending redemptions is a decision taken only in extraordinary circumstances. To protect the investors in these funds the managers were forced to decide on temporarily suspending all redemptions. As a result, FalcInvest is also forced to temporarily suspend the redemption of units of the above-mentioned funds.
Is the manager of the fund allowed to suspend redemptions?
The suspension is in accordance with the conditions of the prospectus of the fund. They can be found in the chapters ‘Suspension of the valuation of Units and suspension of trade’ under the heading ‘Risk factors’. Considering the tumultuous circumstances in the financial markets and following deliberation with the custodian, we were forced to make this decision. We have informed our regulators, The Netherlands Authority for the Financial Markets and The Dutch Central Bank.
When will the suspension of redemption be lifted?
Redemptions will be permitted again once the financial markets have calmed and sufficient liquidity has returned.
What does this mean for the investment policy of the fund?
The investment activities will be continued as usual. The primary goal is the preservation of capital.
